Group Expectations

What are your group goals for the project? What do you want to accomplish? What quality of work do you expect from each group member, and what strategies will you employ to ensure that you fulfill those standards? How will you encourage ideas from all group members?

For this project our group would like to create a movie using our interview, film from the lunch, and a variety of different photos. We would like to be able to convey what it truly means to search for and find refuge. Each group member has contributed equally thus far with sincere effort. Although each group member will be doing different work, each piece of work will be crucial to the final project. For example, during the interview process we all had different roles as far as recording, taking notes, and asking questions. This made the interview a smooth and successful process. In order to maintain this effort, it will be important to set clear roles and expectations. Our group has already set up meetings outside of class, which will also be beneficial to our overall project. In order to encourage ideas from other group members it is crucial that each member is open-minded and willing to try different options. For example, the way we structure our interview can be done many different ways, so it will be important that we structure it a variety of different ways and collaborate together in making the final decision. â€‹

Group Procedures

What program are you going to use (iMovie, Moviemaker, etc.)? If not all group members have this program, how are you going to manage the work load (e.g., using campus computers, working collaboratively, etc.)? How are you going to organize and share your files? Where are you going to store/share files? How are you going to name files (e.g., name and date? Name, date, and initials of last person who edited/saved file?)? When and where are you going to meet (Days/Times/Location) while working on this project? How are you going to communicate between meetings/class?

The group will be using iMovie. Two out of the three group members have this program and are familiar with it. In order to all use the program at once, we will be meeting and working collaboratively. We will be able to split the work load up so that not all of us need to be on iMovie. For example, structuring ideas or revision ideas don't necessarily require the use of iMovie. So far we've shared files through Google Drive and email, which are saved to our SD card and on a hard drive. Files have just been saved as clips; however, I'm sure we will come up with a more efficient method as we collaborate further.  Tomorrow (10/16) we will be meeting during our class period in the classroom. During this meeting we will be able to decide on a more consistent meeting time and place. Aside from meetings and class we can communicate through texting, calling, emailing and even FaceTiming when necessary. I have no worries in regards to communication.

Personal Accountability

Define each group member’s expected level of responsibility for attending meetings, responding to communication from other group members, and completing assigned tasks on time. Describe how the group will handle a member who does not comply with contract. What are the consequences?

It is with high expectations that all members attend all meetings respond to all communication if it specifically directs to you, and complete all tasks on time. No group member will have any less responsibilities or lower expectations than someone else. If a member does not comply with the contract the other group members will have to put additional effort in order to make the project exactly how we want it. Therefore, the consequences should not be worth the failure to contribute. Although I don't necessarily have the authority to set specific consequences, I do think it would be fair to lose points once the lack of effort significantly impacts the groups goals.
